Provisioning roles through Uptycs portal

Overview


Starting with Uptycs portal release 46025, Uptycs provides entity level granular user permissions through roles.


Roles can be provisioned / modified by navigating to Roles GUI / API. This document outlines the process to create roles using Uptycs portal.

Login to Uptycs portal


Navigate to "Configuration" section


Under "System" section, select the "Roles" entry to create new roles / modify existing roles.


IMPORTANT NOTE : Certain minimal permissions are assigned to a role by default even if they are not provisioned. Refer to the following article for details - Minimal permissions assigned to a role


Represents entities with all privileges selected.


Represents entities with subset of privileges selected.


Represents entities without any privileges selected.
